Jan is a creative energetic new thinker, trainer, and coach specialized in Artificial Intelligence and Interventions in organizations. At his work in Rabobank, he applies AI and Machine Learning within different Compliance and Fraud related topics. He is also a core teacher of the module AI and Digital Security, one of the Modular Executive MBA in the business program at Nyenrode Business University in The Netherlands. Jan worked a long time on reasoning systems and applying ML in real business contexts.

Abdel is a certified product manager and agile digital leader with extensive experience developing and implementing business solution strategies, advanced robotics solutions and data-driven platforms in manufacturing. He has 10+ years of experience in the automation field, in a leadership role within large, cross-functional and international industrial organizations. Abdel democratizes advanced analytics and machine learning in production, going from ideation to implementation and rollout. To enable that vision, Abdel led the development of the Condition Monitoring platform from inception to worldwide rollout, as a core element of the Mercedes-Benz Industrial IoT architecture.

Its deployment of AI for document review is now a startup under the name Lynn Legal B.V.

Next to his fraud-fighting technical implementation projects at international banks, Kevin has also completed the BigML Certified Engineer program and is actively working on the development of the RiskShield ML platform.

Ramon van Ingen is co-founder and CTO of Siip Group, a company that offers solutions for identification, authentication, and access challenges. Ramon has a background in applied physics and he obtained his MSc from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 2003. He acquired his MBA in Business and IT in 2017 at Nyenrode Business University and shortly afterwards he started his PhD research at Nyenrode on organizational purpose, which is still going on. Ramon has fulfilled several roles in the Dutch Financial Services Industry where he specialized in cyber security and cyber resilience. In 2017 he started as an independent cyberresilience consultant and acquired a wide range of customers from different sectors.

Dr. Richard Benjamins is Chief AI & Data Strategist at Telefónica. He is among the 100 most influential people in data-driven business (DataIQ 100, 2018). He is also co-founder and Vice President of the Spanish observatory for ethical and social impacts of AI (OdiseIA). He was Group Chief Data Officer at AXA (Insurance) and before that held for 10 years executive positions at Telefónica on Big Data and Analytics. He is the founder of Telefónica's Big Data for Social Good department, external expert to the EP's AI Observatory (EPAIO), member of the B2G data-sharing Expert Group of the EC, and a frequent speaker at Artificial Intelligence events. Thomas G. Dietterich is emeritus professor of computer science at Oregon State University. He is one of the pioneers of the field of Machine Learning. He served as executive editor of Machine Learning (journal) (1992–98) and helped co-found the Journal of Machine Learning Research. In response to the media's attention on the dangers of artificial intelligence, Dietterich has been quoted for an academic perspective to a broad range of media outlets including National Public Radio, Business Insider, Microsoft Research, CNET, and The Wall Street Journal. Tom is also part of the founding team and Chief Scientist at BigML.

Álvaro Clemente is a Machine Learning Engineer at BigML. He graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from ICAI in Madrid, Spain, where he also received a M.S. in Big Data Technologies and Advanced Analytics. He is working to help BigML customers build Predictive Applications and leverage data for making smart and automated decisions. Lately his focus has been on real time Anomaly Detection and Computer Vision.

Francisco is a co-founder and CEO at BigML, Inc, where he helps conceptualize, design, architect, and implement BigML's distributed Machine Learning platform since 2011. Formerly, Francisco founded and led Strands, Inc, a company that pioneered Behavior-based Recommender Systems. Previously, he founded and led Intelligent Software Components, SA (iSOCO), the first spin-off of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). He holds a 5-year degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Valencia, a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the Technical University of Catalonia, and a post-doc in Machine Learning at Oregon State University. He is the holder of 20+ patents in the areas of Recommender Systems and Distributed Machine Learning.

Dr. Jose Antonio Ortega Ruiz (jao) is part of the founding team of BigML. He was hacking for Oblong from 2008 to early 2011. Before that, he worked for Google from July 2007. From June 2005 to May 2007, he worked on embedded software development for the scientific payload of LISA Pathfinder. He was a theoretical physicist previously and wrote a Ph. D. thesis on gravitational wave detectors. He also got a bachelor’s degree in computer science. Between 2003 and 2005, he taught courses on programming and computer networks at the Universitat Autonoma of Barcelona, where he was part of the mobile agents research group.

Mercè Martín Prats holds a Ph.D. in Physics and a Technical Engineer degree in Computer Systems. Her professional career started in a publishing company where contributed to build the first online European Encyclopedia. Part of BigML's team since 2012, she builds some of the bindings offered to integrate Machine Learning models in the current IT Systems. Her previous teaching experience ranges from Substitute Lecturer at the Physics Faculty in Barcelona to Machine Learning Schools and seminars in many international universities and institutions.

Pablo is a Telecommunications Engineer specialized in Image and Sound. He is currently working as a Machine Learning Engineer at BigML where he develops some tools and features that are key for the platform evolution, such as the framework to build customer's predictive applications on top of BigML for everyone to be able to benefit from BigML's technology. Over the last years, he has led several ambitious projects in areas such as mobility and accessibility among others, in order to bring Machine Learning to new industries, some of them in very early stages of digitalization, helping organizations in this transformation process.
